Services

I work across diverse content areas from creative nonfiction to the more academic, but I specialize in medical editing and writing. In health care, clarity is vital to avoid inadvertent misunderstandings and errors. Good editing can make your content more digestible and easier to read for patients and practitioners alike.

I help organizations and authors shape and flesh out ideas (writing or developmental editing), and I copyedit and proofread to ensure precision. I work with print, eLearning and multimedia materials.

Copyediting: I provide sentence-level editing for sentence construction and word choice, style, grammatical correctness, spelling and punctuation while applying style guide conventions. The level of copyedit depends upon the needs of the project.

Proofreading: I review layout and check for egregious and typographical errors for both print and digital content (such as websites or eLearning modules). I offer standard and more substantive proofreading if requested.

Manuscript / Content Assessment: I offer high-level structural and content analysis across chapters, modules or documents. It includes a detailed summary document with feedback and recommendations rather than editing.

Workshops: Do you feel you or your colleagues need additional training? I also provide workshops. I can discuss everything from best practices for writing to avoiding inadvertent plagiarism. I will tailor the workshop to your unique needs.

Other Services: Do you require a service not listed here? I offer additional services from fact checking to executive reports to CV and resume editing. Connect with me to discuss further.

Partnerships

I occasionally partner with another experienced editor with whom I have developed a trusted relationship. These collaborations may help support meeting a tight timeline for a large project or may provide you with a different eye on your work for other types of editing or rounds of review. It’s best practice, for example, not to have the same person both write and edit the same content or complete both developmental and copyediting for the same book.
